Important update on NSFW: Due to an actor’s personal emergency, The Playhouse had to make a cast change and, in order to make sure the show is up to their standards and that the new cast member feels secure in his role, The Playhouse is delaying the first public performance of NSFW to Saturday, July 20. Performance dates are July 20 through August 4, Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. There is no performance on August 3.

Wonderfully funny but with sharp teeth, NSFW is a dark workplace comedy satirizing media attitudes toward sexuality and personal privacy. In the office of a British men’s magazine, appropriately called Doghouse, disaster strikes when they discover that their amateur centerfold is actually a non-consenting 14-year-old girl. This play takes off the gloves and tackles modern morality, the objectification of women (by both men and other women), and how the media culture perpetuates mistreatment.
Vaughn Irving, Artistic Director of the Santa Fe Playhouse, says, “NSFW is an important comedy for right now. I’ve never read or seen another piece of theatre or film that makes you understand your own complicity in the system that perpetuates the objectification of women. The show is funny, vulgar, and powerful. I think everyone will be in turn entertained and horrified by this wonderfully written play.”
