A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Written by William Shakespeare
Directed by Rachel Kelly
Composer and Music Director: Mary Kimball Outten
Flute and Percussion: Charly Drobeck, Jeff Sussmann

This production of Shakespeare’s most entrancing comedy, a play that blends the sublime (the dramatic repertory’s most evocative language about love, imagination, and beauty) with the ridiculous (a ludicrous rendering of the tragedy of Pyramus and Thisby by Bottom the Weaver and his inept but earnest fellow craftsmen), takes place in a scenic amphitheater on Museum Hill. It highlights Season Two of Shakespeare in the Garden, a festival that commenced last summer with an enthusiastically received presentation of The Tempest.

Cast: Patrick Briggs as Quince/Egeus (August 28 – September 2); *Brennan Foster as Bottom; Josh Horton as Lysander; *Kent Kirkpatrick as Quince/Egeus (August 17 – 26) ; Miranda Lichtman as Hermia; Dylan Norman as Oberon/Theseus; Maria Olesen as Snug/Moth; Skye Pagon as Titania/Hippolyta; Koppany Pustzai as Flute/Cobweb; Ann Roylance as Snout/Peaseblossom; Bear Schacht as Mustardseed; Hania Stocker as Demetrius; Georgia Waehler as Puck/Philostrate.
