Twelfth Night

  • Armory for the Arts 1050 Old Pecos Trail Santa Fe, NM, 87505 United States (map)

Upstart Crows of Santa Fe present Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, a delightful comedy of displaced persons, misplaced love, and “Nothing that is so, is so.”

It begins with courtly love, a shipwreck, a girl pretending to be a boy, a cranky steward, a drunken uncle, a courtly Fool.

As in all Shakespeare's comedies, however, there is more going on than meets the eye. This comedic farce holds notes of melancholy, longing, and questions about the nature of love; it is full of beautiful language, hilarious physical comedy, songs, and wit, as well as epic sword fights choreographed by fight director Ambrose Ferber. Join us!

Upstart Crows of Santa Fe is a theater company for young people, ages 10 to 18, with a focus on understanding and performing the works of Shakespeare. Actors experience the plays first-hand, exploring Shakespeare's language and meaning with the help of experienced directors. There are no auditions—all who wish to participate receive substantial roles.
