The Crucible • by Arthur Miller

  • El Museo Cultural 555 Camino de la Familia Santa Fe, NM, 87501 United States (map)

Spring, 1692.

In the black of night, a Salem village priest discovers his slave and several young girls dancing around a fire in the woods. When his daughter exhibits strange catatonic symptoms the following morning, murmurings of witchcraft begin to spread among the villagers. Suspicion, greed, lust, jealousy, and seething resentments smolder and ultimately ignite, engulfing the village and leaving nineteen people dead in its wake.

Following our critically-acclaimed 2015 production of Death of a Salesman, Ironweed Productions is thrilled to return to the world of Arthur Miller with a production of his haunting and electrifying masterpiece, The Crucible. Directed by Ironweed Artistic Director Scott Harrison, this production promises a roller-coaster ride full of razor-sharp suspense, wrenching twists, and shocking revelations.

Based on actual events, The Crucible is a powerful reminder of the devastating consequences when fear takes root in a community.
